Seasons
To every thing, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  Ecc. 3:1 NKJV

To every thing, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  Ecc. 3:1 NKJV

Seasons come, seasons go, and I can tell that fall is in the air.  Today was a beautiful day, a gift straight from the Lord!  The weather is starting to turn chilly at the break of dawn but the sun warms the day up by noon.

As I was driving down the road this morning,  this verse just came to my mind.  "To every thing there is a season..."  I thought of how our lives also have seasons.  I could not help but smile when I thought of the seasonal changes that have occurred in my life lately.

I have had many changes over the last year but there is one thing that never changes and that is the Lord.  I am so happy to know that even when my life is on a mad roller coaster ride with different circumstances, Jesus is always the same and he will never leave me.  That makes me feel such comfort and such reassurance to know that no matter what...He is God and He is a present help in times of trouble!

I would like to challenge you today to look at the changes in your life and then thank the Lord that He is always the same.  Praise him for all that he has done in the past, does on a daily basis and will do for you in the years to come.  He loves you more than anything does and He will love you through all of the seasons of your life, both good and bad.  May he bless you abundantly today and forever!

Today I was thinking about my life and how I have been through many situations that I would like to back space or delete from my autobiography.  I find myself asking why do I always feel as though I have a huge target on my chest when it comes to bad circumstances??  I would love to say I have never participated in a "pity party" but that is simply not the case.

I came across this picture of my Grandmother's hands, and it was as though the Lord whispered to me as I looked at it.  The things that you feel are difficult to go through is my way of giving you strength and courage.  I chuckled a little and hands.jpgwhispered back "I feel strong enough Lord!"

Silver and gold must go through a refining process to get the purest of these precious metals.  God tells us in His word that we too must go through the refining process.

I can tell you that the times of refining may hurt and feel as though our hope is completely gone, but I also can tell you that you can trust the Lord to follow through with His promises.  He says he will never leave us nor forsake us and He loves us for eternity.(see John 3:16)

Take time today to thank Him for all of the things in your life that gives you strength.  Look at your hands and know that some day they may become bent with age but they will tell your family the story of time.

May the Lord bless you abundantly today!

But….. I want to be in control

That sure is a funny thought, but how true it is in most of our lives.  If I really had to sit and ponder that thought, I do live like I am in control.  Very rarely do I sit back and watch God work in my life.

If I can’t see those results now, then I jump in and take control, a lot of time I think to myself I don’t have time to wait on God.  I am one of those immediate results kind of person!  I have learned real quick how true Galatians 3:3 is “Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?”

The other day while I was driving home from work I was listening to Christian radio and the song “Jesus take the Wheel” by Carrie Underwood came on.  Sometimes I like to ponder and focus on the words of a song and turn them back into worship to God.  This song really draws me in and opens my eyes and heart to the need for total surrender to the Lord.

The Christian walk can be a hard road especially when we are living for self and not for Christ.  Just like the song says we get things on our minds, we don’t pay attention and the next thing we have sunk into sin, spinning way out of control!  And boy does that happen fast!

It is time we threw up our hands, repented, turned back to Christ and surrendered our hearts and lives to Jesus.  Cry out and give him the wheel of our lives.  Let Him take control.  He promises to never leave us or forsake us. Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

When we try to take control, we need to stop and remember that God is the one who is really in control, and we have a wonderful promise from the Word Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

Shammah's Pea Patch

2 Samuel 23:11-12   11 Next in rank was Shammah son of Agee from Harar. One time the Philistines gathered at Lehi and attacked the Israelites in a field full of lentils. The Israelite army fled, 12 but Shammah held his ground in the middle of the field and beat back the Philistines. So the Lord brought about a great victory.”

Plants 1

Shammah was a man that faced certain death because he was just one man against a whole army of Philistines.  He stood in his pea patch and guarded it because that was what God had called him to do with his life.  The Lord was so impressed by his faithfulness to defend and stand for what he had been called to do that he gave him a great victory.  He won the battle that day and received a blessing.

Like Shammah, God has called us to take a stand for what is right.   “God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting LIFE.” John 3:16 KJV There are many scriptures through out the Bible that says just how precious life is.

Are you standing for what He has called you to do with your life?  Do you give in when certain defeat stands before you or do you trust Him with everything.  I challenge you to stand like Shammah and trust God in all that you do no matter what the odds are.

Remember this, you are not alone because God is here and will win the battle for you.  Take His hand and stand firm, just like that day in the pea patch the Lord brings about a great victory when we are faithful.  Trust  Him!

I Fell In A Pit and Couldn’t Get Out

A few years ago I went with my daughter to a birthday party at a local gymnastics company.  Some of my friends were there with there children so we began making small talk.  Soon, one of the outgoing moms thought it would be really cute if all the moms jumped into the foam pit off the end of the trampoline.  I was game so off we went.  Hop hop, hop then poof down into the pit.  The problem was it was designed to cushion small, lightweight children, not moms.

After I landed in the foam pit I wanted to crawl to the side so that I could climb out.  There was a huge problem with that…it just wasn’t possible.  As I struggled it was just like quick sand and down I sank.  The more I tried the deeper I got until finally I was in way over my head and couldn’t even see anything but foam.  It was not a good feeling just to put it mildly.  Thank God there was a Father there who saw the panic in my eyes and the thrashing about in the pit.  He first stuck the end of the broom handle down to where I could grab it and then he lifted me out of the pit

This event reminded me of how it was on the day of my abortion and the many months that followed.  On the day that I made the choice, I bounced into a pit that seemed to be very safe when I went in.  It didn’t take very long to realize that I was in way over my head.  I panicked and thrashed about but that only ended in sinking so deep that I couldn’t even see the light of day.  I sank deeper and deeper into despair until only one thing could save me.  Thank God there was The Father just waiting with a hand to rescue me.  It still brings tears to my eyes just thinking of how much love it took to reach me in the bottom of that pit.

No matter what the issue is, God can pull you out.  Reach up and take His hand.  He loves you and He wants to take you to freedom.   Let us know your need and we will do what ever it takes to help you find the hope and help that you are seeking.  Let us know how we can pray for you too.
