Facing Your Giants

"And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me."
 (Acts 26:15-18 KJV)

I sat down with my children last night and watched (what I knew) was the most inspiring movie that I probably have ever seen.  I pretty much wept the whole movie and this was my second time seeing it.  The movie, Facing the Giants.  A must see for ALL families.  I'd love to go into the details of the movie, but I do not want to spoil it for those of you that will go out today and rent this movie.  The reason that I cried is that it is so inspiring to see how God moves, because as a Christian I have seen it and I know the movie is truth and not just a feel good movie that is a little unrealistic.  Go get it, I promise your spirit will be encouraged and you will be lifted up.

What is impossible for the Lord?  Nothing.  For with God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.  The message of this movie.  No matter what you are facing today - if you are in a valley ... that is the GIANT ... WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.  They are.  God honors a faithful servant, and He has a definite plan for each one of our lives and we are to learn and grow through all the difficult times.  If we are not learning anything from the giants, then maybe we are not trusting in God.  I know sometimes we don't understand.  But we can't see the big picture of our lives, only the Lord knows that.  But trust me, He loves you and if you desire that walk with Him, He will lead you.  Trust in Him.  (Faith = full ability instilling trust (in) Him)  Jesus loves YOU!

I am praying that you see that today.  Know that Jesus knows where you are.  He is waiting for you to finally say - I believe.  I trust.  With all that I am, no matter what I face - Jesus you are my rock and my salvation.  Today I will lay my giant at your feet.

Have a great weekend.  Invite someone to church with you this Sunday.  Count your blessings and BE BLESSED!  Love, Tracy

Count Your Blessing or Count Your Problems?

"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
(Matthew 5:13-16 KJV)

After a long day at home or at work when you sit down for the night, do you ever think about your day and all the conversations you had and all the people that crossed your path that day?  I usually do that each day.  I am a thinker, well in some ways.  Sometimes I just open my mouth without thinking (then afterwards I say to myself, why did I say that!).  Do you ever think, God why did you create me?  Why am I a mother or father?  Or why am I a teacher or secretary?  Why am I poor?  Why am I wealthy?  Lord, what is my path in life?  Why did you die for me?  Why did you save me?  Why am I blessed, yet others struggle?  Did you ever think ... God why don't I appreciate what I have more?  Why don't I tell others about what you've done in my life?  Do you ever think MY GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD?  Do you ever thank God for the opportunities He has placed you in?

This verse follows the Beatitudes.  Jesus telling His people of all their blessings.  Have you ever just stopped to count your blessings?  You may struggle financially, yet somehow everything always gets paid.  You may feel empty, yet somehow you have strength to get out of bed each day.  Count your blessing - name them one by one ... count your many blessings and see what God has done.  Most days when I start to feel sorry for myself the Lord brings some thought to my mind or some person to me to remind me to count my blessings!  Our God is an Awesome God.  He is our protector and He is our ROCK.  No matter what we face today - Jesus holds the future.  No matter how hard our circumstances are - Jesus is the Rock.  No matter what road we face today - we are not alone.  When I was discouraged, sometimes my Mom would say to me, Tracy it is not the end of the world.  I was thinking about that as I was writing this.  It is true, we will have struggles, life is all about a journey and when our lives are over here it is not the end for Christians - it is the beginning of what we have been living for!  Encourage others in the name of Jesus today.  No matter what valley you face today you can say - Jesus is my ROCK.

Have a great day!  Please continue to remember the 3 year old girl that was in the accident I told you about yesterday, her mother died yesterday. Please all remember Ann Strait who is in the hospital and has sepsis.  Count your blessings and be blessed!
Love, Tracy

Are We Running?
"Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep. So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.
(Jonah 1:1-6 KJV)

Is the Lord talking to you today?  Do you find yourself like Jonah, scared and running in the other direction?  What are the convictions of your heart?  Are they heavenly desires or do you feel, however someone lives their life is their business?  Sometimes I can hear myself saying that.  "Well, that is between them and God."  That is true, but there are times that we do need to step in and stand up for the Word of God.  Is that what God is calling you to do today?  Sometimes people look for absolute confirmation from the Lord.  A sign if you will.  I believe this is someone's sign today.  Take a stand for Jesus.  You know what is right.  We should not care what others think of us IF we are living a Christian life that is pleasing to God.  If more and more people would stand up for Christian morals, values, faiths and beliefs we'd live in a different world today.

My husband and I were watching the news last night.  One particular story was very upsetting ... this man driving well over the speed limit came around a curve and hit another vehicle head on.  The man, had no valid drivers license - the other car, a 20 year old mother driving with her 3 year old and she was about 7-8 months pregnant.  She lost her unborn baby and she is in critical condition.  Her 3 year old had scratches but will be OK.  She was rescued by a man and he held her and comforted her until the ambulances came.  The driver, the man speeding - probably fine.  The vehicles looked like a strip of tin they flipped so many times.  What is the matter with people?  That man, nervous because a police car was behind him - sped up and up and up.  He was only thinking about himself and his consequences of driving without a valid license.  Running.  Look what he has done.

What does our running do?  When we run from God and the plans that He has for our lives, how does that change the dynamics of our life?  It may not be as severe as the story I told you above, but our choices, like Jonah, have consequences.  Perhaps the Lord has caused a storm in your life to get your attention.  Is your boat rocking a little bit?  Did you actually think that God doesn't care about your circumstances?  Oh He cares!  He is right beside us in the storm.  Like that accident I told you about, the Lord protected that little 3 year old just as He protects us.   He sent an angel to hold that 3 yr old girl because her Mommy and Daddy couldn't.  You can look at any circumstance and see Jesus if you open your eyes.  He is holding, guiding and protecting us.

I hope you all have a great day.  Please continue to pray for Kim's family (Bartley) as they make funeral plans for her father.  Please remember Ann Strait, she has Sepsis and as of yesterday was given a 50/50 chance of survival and also please continue to remember the Brown Family, Jackie's brother Morris died last Friday and her Dad is very ill.  Pray for strength for that family.  Her Mother's name is Jo.  Be blessed and count your blessings!  Love, Tracy

Look To The Cross!

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds."
(Hebrews 12:2-3 KJV)

I was reading different translations of this verse ... this is how the Amplified Bible put it, "Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.  Just think of Him Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds."

In our lives I think it is so easy to take our eyes off the cross and onto our circumstance.  We think and we wonder how we got to this point or why nothing ever seems to go our way, but did you ever think that maybe we just try to hard to create our own path?  I can think of many times in my own life that I headed down a road that the Lord did not plan for my life, my prayer life was not what it should have been and I was left thinking "how am I going to figure this out."  When finally I realized that I was not trusting God with all that I have and all that I need and I change and get on my knees and lay it all down at the foot of the cross, only then do things begin to turn around.  I don't have to figure it out on my own.  Jesus will show me the way.  He will show you the way.  Trust in Him and know He knows your journey.  Whatever journey we face today, we are not facing it alone.  No matter how BIG the circumstance, or how small the circumstance, Jesus is with you.  Keep your eyes on the cross.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday.  Please remember Kim Bartley and her family in prayer, her father was killed yesterday in a car accident.  I think her brother is serving overseas right now.  Be Blessed.  Love, Tracy

Where Are You In Your Journey?

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
(Phillipians 4:19 KJV)

The riches of God.  Can you imagine the day that you are facing Jesus?  Have you ever thought about that day.  Some of us are really excited about that day.  To be with Jesus forever and ever.  Some people are not looking forward to the day that their "life" is over and some may not even give it a thought.  Without Jesus ... we are nothing.  We just exist.  But with Jesus - we are everything!  I don't know how people who do not serve God face a tragedy or a trial in their life.  Even with God, when I face a valley I can get very weary.  I try to figure out my circumstances on my own and see no end in sight.  But with Christ, all things are possible - for His Glory.  Sometimes we create and still up a mess of a circumstance.  We make mistakes, but if we don't turn to the Lord and change our ways it may never get better.

I was watching a movie yesterday - it was not a very good movie, but the end message said it all.  It was about miracles and this lady believed that God was using her son that was in a coma to heal people.  A friend of his who was hurt by the church in her early years believed that this lady was using her circumstances to make money from the donations people gave.  When she confronted her sick friend he awoke from a coma.  The movie was far fetched - but many people cling to these hopes and signs instead of just clinging to Gods Word.  But at the end of the movie the boys mother had a great line, she said - well he performed the greatest miracle of all - an unbeliever - now believes!

What will it take for us to realize that Jesus loves us?  We see many miracles performed today.  The Lord uses many circumstances in peoples lives to show us that He loves us.  Even in a tragedy the Lord continues to use us.  On Saturday night we went to a benefit for a four families in town.  A man that works for our school district has a family band (www.hudsonfamilyband.com).  This family is blessed.  8 Children - all have musical talent in one form or another.  God used them this Saturday night.  The 4 families, all brought together by accident - or was it?  I thought about my friend as I sat there.  Touched by tragedy, the loss of her only daughter, yet she is lifting the others up by her walk.  The other families, the Meltons, whose daughter Presley faces more surgery - but is literally a walking miracle!  The Hobbs family, their daughters accident claimed her life - due to a man driving drunk at four o'clock in the afternoon. And the Treynor girl and her family still healing. All four families each one experiencing the same reason for being there - yet all on their own emotional journey. The Lord has brought these families together for a purpose and it is evident to me that He is sustaining them through this time and using them to hold and encourage each other.

The choices we make can change our lives forever.  Have you made a choice to serve him today?  I hope you all have a great Monday!  Think about where you are on this journey and what changes you can make in your life to serve Christ.  Love, Tracy
