Living Each Day
"Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."  (Ephesians 5:15-20 NIV)

It is hard to believe that July 2007 is upon us.  It seems like it was only yesterday that we were preparing for January 2000.  The thoughts of how life would be changed in the new millennium.  I was thinking yesterday how fast life seems to be moving.  One day we are 18 and the next we are almost 42 with preteens.  Before we blink they will be married with kids of their own.  Where does the time go?  I was re-reading a devotion today and it started with a verse in  James (4:14), "What is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away."

Now that is something that will really make you think.  What are we doing with the time we do have in this life?  We are here and each year just keeps going by - thinvalleymountaintop.jpgk about what you have accomplished.  Has is just been for your benefit?  Have we done anything that has an impact on eternal life?  Would you classify yourself as a person who complains about everything?  You most always see your glass as half empty? When people see you coming, do they try to go in the other direction without making eye contact - because they don't want to be faced with another negative conversation?  Are you a person that will find gloom and doom in every situation?

Maybe, you are the type of person who sees the glass half full. you can usually find a positive side to everything. You are the type of person that people will call when they need a "pick me up."  You usually spread joy and radiate sunshine.  This is the type of person that Jesus wants us to strive to be.  People who are doing their best and making their best of a bad situation.  Trying to come up out of the valley is not always easy.  Only through the love and by the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ can we learn and grow from those experiences.

Don't give up - dust off your Bible and start reading God's Word and He will show you the light.  Discover how life can be if you turn your life inside out - living for Jesus.  He will do a work on the inside which will radiate on the outside.

I pray His Word has touched your heart today.  Desire change in your life that will glorify His name.  Count the many blessings that the Lord has given to you over the years, even if you are facing a valley today!  Today's valley will be tomorrow's mountaintop!!!  Have a great Monday.  I will be on vacation the rest of the week, please pray for me as I travel to
NJ in the morning with my children (it is a 12 hour drive).

Have a wonderful 4th of July, praise God for the Independence that you have and celebrate the Freedom that we have because of Jesus!

Love, Tracy
