Walk In His Word

"Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.  Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvelous works among all nations."
 (1 Chronicles 16:23-24 King James)

"Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.  Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples."
(1 Chronicles 16:23-24 NIV)

This is a great word for today.  I think most of us, move from Sunday to Monday and it is like Sunday never existed.  We wake up tired Monday morning, we may dread going to work because we don't like our job.  The kids are not cooperating, nothing seems to be going right.  Yet, just 12 hours before we were sitting in church filling our cup for the week.  Sometimes doesn't it feel like there is a hole in the bottom of our cup?  It seems that we go back to trying to control our own circumstances on Monday morning!  The devotion below is written by Greg Laurie.  It is a good word of encouragement and a reminder that every day should be Sunday.

As believers living in an ungodly world, sometimes we wonder if we can ever make a difference. We wonder if we can effectively penetrate this cynical world with the Good News that God has given us to proclaim.

The answer to that question lies in the source of our power. If we rely on our own strength and methods, we cannot make much of a difference. If we rely on our own abilities, we will surely fail. But if we choose to be driven by God's limitless power, then nothing can stop us. We can make a difference in this world.

We as believers, as the church, are the only ones who are going to make a real difference. Those who are in the arena of politics will help some. Those who are trying to help in other areas will assist some. But the primary impact upon our culture will be made through the church.

But it won't be made through the church alone—it will be made by the church that is empowered by the Spirit of God. It is going to be made by the church that is obeying the Word of God, the church that will proclaim the Good News by the limitless power of God.

It is tempting to say, "Forget it. There isn't anything we can do. Obviously we are never going to affect this world in which we are living." But Jesus Christ has given us a mandate, and that is to affect this world that we live in. That is to be both salt and light, to be His representatives
.

Use this word each day by Pastor Laurie, as a reminder that each day people are watching you -- whether it be your family, children, spouse, a friend, a coworker or a stranger.  How are you handling today?  Is your life preaching Jesus?

I hope you all have a great day.  For some of us today is the start of our Christmas break and I pray you all have a Merry Christmas!  Enjoy some time off with your family.  Thank you for all of your prayers!  I pray that that hand of the Lord touches your home today and you feel Blessed.  Love, Tracy

Will YOU Praise Him in The Storm?

"
Let all things be done decently and in order."

 (1 Corinthians 14:40 NIV)

I read this comment by Dr. Charles Stanley this morning

Warning for Organizers

The person with the gift of organization must be careful not to drive others beyond the limits of their abilities. The organizer is so highly motivated to complete a task that he or she may "drive" others to work without regard for their capacity, energy level, other commitments or personal limitations. They must be sensitive to the fact that others may not be as talented or motivated as they are.

After I read it, I thought about how many expectations I put on others just because that is the way I think that they should be.  Truth is we are all so different and God made us that way for a reason.  When I read this I especially think about us as parents.  We expect a lot of our children.  Maybe too much, maybe some of us not enough.  I thought about how many times I make decisions without first praying about it.  Then, when it doesn't turn out the way I wanted it to - I wonder why?  When we don't present our all to the Lord how can He guide and direct us where we need to be?  And when we don't submit everything to prayer how can we be sure this is the direction the Lord has for us?

Sometimes we get so caught up in "our plan" that it may be months before our eyes are opened to the fact that God's plan was totally different, but we let our pride put blinders in the way and we decided not to change.  Don't be afraid to change.  Don't be afraid to say OK, that was wrong and we need to change things.  Just something to think about.

Starting today, this very minute, say a prayer to Jesus to help remove your pride.  Most people would probably say they don't let pride get in the way ... but honestly, most of us do.  Be humble.  How do we guide our children down the right path if they don't see us being humble?  We are passing on that pride down generation to generation.  Let's show them what our faith is built on.  Not our own will -- but the will of the Lord who gives us mercy and who gives us grace because He first loved us!

Have a great day today. I pray that the Lord's will be done in your lives today and I pray that He places a desire in your heart to change -- it is never too late!  Love, Tracy

Be Of Good Cheer!

“In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer,
I have overcome the world.”

  (John 16:33 NIV)

I love this verse.  It is such a sweet reminder to us about life.  Our problems in this life are only temporary.  The Lord tells us, yes, we will have troubles - be HE has overcome the world.  Through Him all things are possible.  With the Lord, no matter what we face we can face tomorrow ... for it is just another day.  What seems like a huge crisis to us, is just another part of our journey.  Our problems and valley's seem big ... but God is bigger!  This is the good news!  I love this short devotion below by Thelma Wells - a Woman of Faith Speaker and Author.

More Than a Conqueror

Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer.” How outrageous! Be of good cheer when you have problems in your life? That doesn't make sense if you stop reading there. But if you believe the next statement, “I have overcome the world,” it all makes sense. Jesus has the authority to declare that profound encouragement because He lived and died and rose again to make it true.

Dear friend, just as Jesus conquered death and has all power in heaven and earth in His hands, He will use His power to give you authority to triumph over any problem you are facing. Girl, you are not just a survivor; you are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ!  (
Thelma Wells Girl, Have I Got Good News for You !)

No matter what
your situation is today ... Jesus is near.  I was talking to a friend at church last night who was just told he may have cancer.  He will be going through more tests today please pray for him, his name is Steve.  We are all touched in some way or another by cancer.  I hope you are taking the time each day to pray for someone you know.  Please also continue to pray for Doug Hefner (cancer) and for Jake Reynolds (car accident).  Have a blessed Monday.  Love, Tracy

Making It Right
"Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, Lord how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me?  Up to seven times?  Jesus answered I tell you, not seven times,
BUT seventy-seven times."
(Matthew 18:21-22 NIV)

In other words, the Lord says whatever it takes to make it right!  Many of us, myself included, find ourselves with a short fuse with people.  Can you even imagine if Jesus would not forgive us for a sin we committed against Him.  Oh my. This is a season of celebration of the birth of our Savior.  It really gets under my skin when people write "Merry X-mas".  In the past I have found myself saying Happy Holidays, however now I make a conscious decision to say MERRY CHRISTMAS.  It is Happy Birthday
Jesus
.  Examine your heart today,
write a short note to someone who you are still harboring bad (negative) feelings towards.  It does not mean you have to pursue a friendship or relationship with that person - it just will cleanse your heart and it will renew your spirit with the Lord.  Jesus was born and He died just for you.  What are you doing in your life -- just for Him?

I love you all.  I pray His Word has touched your heart today.  I hope that your desire is a closer walk with the Lord.  Revive your heart!  Have a great weekend, invite someone to church with you this Sunday.  Please continue to pray for Doug Hefner, David May, Jake Reynolds and their families.  Count your blessings!
Love, Tracy

Where Do You Stand?

"Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient
in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer."   (Romans 12:11-12 NIV)

So many times the Lord intervenes in our lives in a special way. Watch and be aware of those times, then praise God that you can play a part, in sharing the Gospel with someone in this world. Be obedient to where He directs you. There are not always clear reasons "why" the Lord places us in certain situations.  We may not understand now - but God always has a purpose for you and for me.  That purpose should always bring glory and honor to Him.   Many times I have looked back over my life and I can now see different situations I had to face because they brought me closer to God and they have opened my eyes to who I am and what I should be.

Do you have someone on your heart and mind today?  Lift them up to the Lord in prayer.  Write them a note or give them an encouraging word.  Jesus loves you!
I was thinking yesterday, so many people in the world have issues with saying Merry Christmas these days - it has to be happy holidays.   Well, as a Christian I have a hard time with that.  It offends me.  Without Christ, there is no reason for Christmas.  If you don't celebrate Christmas, you don't celebrate Christ.  Don't worry about offending someone ... if you are a Christian - it is your celebration of Christ's birth.  Merry Christmas!!!!  When Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah ~ it is not happy holidays.  Why aren't we offended enough to take a stand?  Think about it and make a conscious effort to take a stand.  Count your blessings - we are so blessed! Love, Tracy

He Will Raise You Up!

"Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
(Colossians 4:4-6 NIV)

Sometimes I look up a few different translations of verses of scripture, I liked the NIV translation of this verse.  Clear and to the point.  Are you a "people watcher?"  I am a people watcher.  I like to just observe peoples actions sometimes.  People are watching you.  Have you noticed?  People are watching how you handle crisis.  People are watching how you handle conflict.  The Message puts it this way ... "Pray that every time I open my mouth I'll be able to make Christ plain as day to them. Use your heads as you live and work among outsiders. Don't miss a trick. Make the most of every opportunity. Be gracious in your speech. The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down, not cut them out."  Isn't that good?  That is plain as day to me!  Most of us place to high of an expectation on ourselves, we have to realize we are not perfect people.  We can get emotional and in the flesh - but who is that encouraging?  When we are faced with conflict we have the remedy.  We have it, but do we use it?  God's Word.  We have it, but do we read it?  We have it, but do we seek answers?

Psalm 37:5 says this ... "Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."  Verse 7 says ... Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass."

Rest in the Lord.  Trust in Him.  Live life by walking the talk.  Don't just walk the walk.  God wants our prayers to be honest and open.  Surrender it all to Him!  Do not be discouraged, for He is with you this day!  He loves you.  I love the song You Raise Me Up.  I often think of my Mother when I listen to the words, I think of how encouraging she was to all of her children.  I loved her more than my heart can explain sometimes.  I also think of the Lord when I hear this song ...
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.

Because anything is possible with God - When we are weary, He is strong!  When our hearts are burdened, He is there.  When we are suffering in the silence of despair, He is there!  He will raise us up out of the valley and up to the mountains.  He will raise us up to walk through the storm.  When we are weak ... He is strong.  He will face the battles set before us.  We are nothing without Him, but with Him - we are raised up to more than we could ever be alone!  He is our ROCK, He is Our Fortress, He IS our everything.  Don't go another day without trusting Him to guide your path.  Don't waste another second trying to face the valley alone.  Call out to Jesus today.

I hope you get it.  I hope you got it.  It is not about us.  It is all about Him.  We are here to bring others to His saving knowledge.  Christ was born to pay our sin debt -- we were born to bring the Good News and tell others about Him.  I pray you all have a great Tuesday and that the Lord has touched your heart today and that it is your desire to draw near to Him.  God Bless you.  Love, Tracy

Loving Memories
"Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
(Matthew 6:8-15 NIV)
Over the weekend my husband and I went to a Christmas program.   There were many new songs to me, but they sang one old Christmas song, "Do You Hear What I Hear"

Said the night wind to the little lamb,
"Do you see what I see? Do you see what I see?
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
Do you see what I see? Do you see what I see?
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite,
With a tail as big as a kite."

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,
"Do you hear what I hear? Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,
Do you hear what I hear? Do you hear what I hear?
A song, a song, high above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea,
With a voice as big as the sea."

Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
"Do you know what I know? Do you know what I know?
In your palace warm, mighty king,
Do you know what I know? Do you know what I know?
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold--
Let us bring him silver and gold,
Let us bring him silver and gold."

Said the king to the people everywhere,
"Listen to what I say! Listen to what I say!
Pray for peace, people, everywhere,
Listen to what I say! Listen to what I say!
A Child, A Child sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light,
He will bring us goodness and light."
At this time of year, many people are singing about Jesus, the Savior of the World.  As I was listening to the choir sing this song I started actually listening to the words.  To think, this child laying in a manger was born one night to save us!  This little baby created for you and for me, to be our counselor, our healer, our redeemer.  It is just awesome.  As I sat there I started thinking about Christmas growing up in the D'Alessandro house.  I was telling some friends the other day about different traditions my Mother had.  One of them was the manger scene,  baby Jesus was not placed here until Christmas Day.  As I was telling them I was remembering the anticipation of placing Him in the manger.  What traditions have you started for your own family?  Do you read them the story of Christmas out of the book of Luke each year.  Do they know why Christmas is celebrated?  Gifts are wonderful and it is always fun to do, but make sure they know and understand the ultimate gift.
I hope you all have a great Monday, please pray for my sister in laws family (Maryalice), her father (Gerry Ryan) passed away yesterday, her Mother just died a few months ago so this is a very hard time.  Also for my cousins neighbor, Jake Reynolds, he was in a car accident over the weekend, he is in critical condition and for a man at Church, Doug Heffner (Louise), he has Cancer.  Count your blessings dear friends!  Today is the day of Salvation.  Love, Tracy

He Is All You Need

"Through Him you have come to trust in God, who...give Him Glory, so that your
faith and hope are set on God."   (1 Peter 1:21 NIV)

"Through Him you have come to trust in God, who...give Him Glory, so that your
faith and hope are set on God."   (1 Peter 1:21 NIV)

When we are in the darkest hours of a challenging situation in our life, we may feel that it is going to take a miracle to bring joy back into our heart and lives. We know that the when a day is over, it is going to be the start of a new day. A new beginning, a chance for a new start.  We need to trust in God to provide for us rest and renewal, yesterday may have been bad ... but today is a new day.

So when circumstances in your life look hopeless, have faith that a new day will come - a new day with endless possibilities - because with God all things are possible! Our faith in God, even though we cannot see the big picture, has to be blind. Trust in God to guide you with each and every step you take. Know that God will not fail you and He will restore order and balance in your life ... go to Him for renewal.  Face each day knowing that with God, all things are possible.  Discover the joy of salvation.  Seek His will and journey for your life.  Encourage one another with His Word and live each day with anticipation of what you can accomplish for His glory and His honor. Today is the day!

I pray that the Lord touches your heart today through His Word.  I pray that you can be a blessing to someone that comes into your path today ~ without even knowing it.  I hope you have a great weekend.  Invite someone to church with you this Sunday.  If you are not going to church pray that the Lord will lead you to a place that you have a desire to praise and worship Jesus.  A place that believes the Bible from cover to cover and maybe even steps on your toes!  Have a blessed day - count your blessings, name them one by one ~ for you are blessed!  Love, Tracy

Through It All ~ We Will Learn To Trust In Jesus

"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:
therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. "
 (Psalm 28:7 NIV)

Where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord.  Psalm 121 verse 1 and 2 says this, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth."  I love the song that the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir sings, it is pretty much this whole Psalm.

When we look at our earthly lives, which we often do each second of the day, we often just have to ponder "why things happen."  It is human nature.  But the truth is, some things are just unexplainable.  We don't know why the good suffer.  We don't know why some family's are engulfed in tragedy.  We just have to trust the Lord, we just have to turn to him for strength and for guidance.  He will bring us through each
and every circumstance.  He will reach down when we are in the valley and bring us up from the pits of despair.  We can't do that alone.  We are not meant to stay in the valley suffering.  Call out to the Lord today - He will strengthen your soul.

I pray that if any of you are facing that valley, that you are seeking the Lord for guidance and direction.  I pray that your prayer is to let go and seek God.  He loves you and does not want your suffering to continue another day.  Reach up out of the valley and take hold of the hand of God AND DON'T LET GO!  I love the words to the song Through It All.  I know I have shared them with you before, but it is worth another reminder ... that through it all, we can learn to trust in the Lord.  No matter what we face ~ He is there Through It All.  Have a great day everyone.  Love, Tracy

I’ve had many tears and sorrows;
I’ve had questions for tomorrow;
There’ve been times I didn’t know right from wrong.
But in every situation
God gave blessed consolation
That my trials come to only make me strong.

Chorus:

Through it all, through it all,

(Oh,) I’ve learned to trust in Jesus;

I’ve learned to trust in God.

Through it all, through it all,

I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.

I thank God for the mountains

And I thank Him for the valleys;

I thank Him for the storms He brought me through;

For if I’d never had a problem,

I wouldn’t know that He could solve them;

I’d never know what faith in God could do.

Chorus

Jesus Loves ... YOU!

"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he
will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."
(James 1:12 NIV)

I was watching a Billy Graham special on TV last night, A tribute to his wife, Ruth Bell Graham.  Did you ever watch someone like that on TV and think, "Wow, I wish I was more like that?"  I saw a lot of my own Mother in her.  The dedication to the Lord, her home and taking care of her children.  At the end a singer (Fernando Ortega), sang his song Give Me Jesus.  That is our calling when people are hurting.  Many of us are not called to preach, but we are called to share and we are called to live our life like Christ.  Showing His love and His grace to others.

I am sure in your circle of friends, family and acquaintances there are many who feel isolated or depressed at times. They long to live an honest, transparent life before others and before God. If you have been through the valley, perhaps God has taken you there and has anointed you to reach out to them and help them through the trails of their lives.  I can only think of two reasons why we go through trials in life. 1) to grow in the Lord and 2) to help others that will go there after us. That is one reason I send these prayers everyday. To let you know that I love you and more importantly that JESUS loves you!  Even when we think God isn't listening, He is there. I think we just need to be reminded of that sometimes.

There are many in our small circle of friends and family that are going to be facing another Christmas without someone they love, it may be someone's first Christmas without that person or people.  Reach out to someone today.  I know that valley is deep and it is easy to feel despair.  Just write them a note and tell them you are thinking and praying for them.  People just like to be remembered!  It helps.  I hope you all have a blessed day.  Always remember to count your blessings ... we are so blessed!  Love, Tracy

Listen for His Word

I was reading a daily devotion by Pastor Greg Laurie and I thought I would share it again.  The Lord knows exactly what we need to hear and when.  God is always telling us something, we need to be aware of when He is speaking directly into our hearts! It makes me wonder, what are our true desires?  Do we realize that we need to get deeper and deeper into His Word.  Trusting Him more and more.  Loving Him more and more.

The road we travel from day can be difficult, but when traveled with Jesus at our sides, anything is possible.  In 1855, Joseph Medlicott Scriven wrote What A Friend We Have In Jesus.  1855!  The words still bring great comfort to many today ...

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

What a friend we have in Jesus my friends!  He is the Lily of the Valley ... the Bright Morning Star ... the Sweet Rose of Sharon ... the Great I AM, King of King, Lord of Lords ... He IS ... He is JESUS!

Below is a devotion by Pastor Greg Laurie from Harvest Ministries, it is a good Word from the Lord and I pray that it touches your heart and places a desire in your heart to read the Bible more and desire to serve Jesus more.  I hope you have a great Tuesday.  Please pray for a friend at Church, her name is Debbie Ngo, her house burned down on Wednesday night and she lost all her belongings.  Thank God her family was unharmed.  Love, Tracy

Trials of Our Own Making

 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
 James 1:13

Sometimes we walk into trials of our own making, because they are the direct result of our own selfishness or pride or greed or lust. Then when this happens and we reap the results of our sin, we get angry at God.

But James says, "Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted by God'; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death" (James 1:13;15). We forge the links of small, compromising actions, and before we know it, a mighty chain is wound around us, and we are helpless.

I used to be able to outrun my oldest son Christopher, who is now an adult. But a few years ago, we were at the beach, and I picked a spot and said, "OK, Christopher, I will race you to that spot." We took off, and much to my surprise, he outran me. I thought, "How is that possible? I held this child in my hands when he was born. I watched him grow." Well, he grew up. That's what happened.

That's the way it can be with sin. We think we can handle it. We think it's so small. But James says that when sin is full-grown, it brings forth death. One of these days that sin is going to grow up, and it is going to outrun you. It is going to overpower you. That's what happens.

Turning to The Lord

I had this devotion tucked away and when I reread it this morning I thought I would share it again.  It is a message given by Pastor Greg Laurie.  I think many people believe that life is based on luck.  We say things like, "oh that was lucky"  or "that was pure luck that that happened."  "If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck."  But are these actually true statements?  I know we can feel that way sometimes, but the Lord has a plan for each of our lives, this plan includes valley's and mountaintops.  We don't always understand the valley's ~ most of the time we are in them so far, we can't even think straight.  But someday, and it might be years,  God will use that valley for His glory to help someone else who will travel down that same road.

I know it is so hard when we are faced with devastating trials to understand, but turn your eyes upon Jesus and He will give you peace so you will have the strength through Christ,  to endure what you are facing.  He is our ROCK and nothing will change that.  No matter who you are or what you have done in your life, Jesus loves you and died for you and me so we can have life eternal with God.  It is a free gift to us ~ that we either accept or reject.  It we are constantly beating ourselves up over sin that has been forgiven, we are rejecting Gods Grace that was freely given to us.  Once we repent and receive the Lord's forgiveness, we need to forgive ourselves and turn to the Lord for strength.  Instead of asking the Lord "why?"  Ask Him to show you how to have strength and how to endure the trails you will face.

Have a great Monday, I pray this devotion by Greg Laurie will bless your heart as it has mine.  Love, Tracy

There's No Such Thing As Luck
by Pastor Greg Laurie

"God's secret plan has now been revealed to us; it is a plan centered on Christ, designed long ago according to his good pleasure"  (Ephesians 1:9 NIV)

No Christian should ever say, "I was really lucky today" or "Whatever will be will be." Forget that. If you are a Christian, then you are a child of God. There's no such thing as dumb luck. God has a plan and a purpose. He has a strategy for your life. You may not see it now, but He sees it and always has seen it. God is paying attention to what you are facing right now. He is paying attention to what you really need—not necessarily to what you want. So the great thing to know is that God is thinking about you and He cares about you.

We must remember what God's thoughts are toward us. According to Jeremiah 29:11, God's thoughts toward us are thoughts of peace and not of evil. He may hate sin, but He loves the sinner with an everlasting love. The next time that the devil whispers in your ear that God's design for you is evil, remember Jeremiah 29:11 and quote it. In fact, the next time the devil reminds you of your past, you can remind him of his future. Your future is good. His is not.
